Course Descriptions

Leadership and Motivation (2 days)
This workshop assesses management styles and evaluates key ingredients for strong effective leadership patterns. It analyzes attitudes to better understand employee motivation, performance, and job satisfaction. Participants will develop skills for negotiating their way out of employees' manipulation, as well as a plan for the use of these newly learned skills in actual on-the-job leadership and motivation situations.

Principles of Management (3 days)
Approximately 75% of people leave their jobs because of the boss. With that high percentage, it is critical to attain skills that help managers manage in today’s fast-paced, global environment. The emphasis of this workshop is on those skills, such as leadership, delegating, understanding your behaviors, managing change, determining mission, vision, goals and expectations, managing yours and your direct reports time, interpersonal communications, and more. Participants complete several assessment tools to help them see areas for improvement.

The Supervisor as Coach, Counselor, Trainer (1 day)
People who know how to supervise others are able to greatly contribute to an organization's productivity and profit. Understanding how to effectively manage people is what sets apart the high-achieving manager from the ordinary manager. This workshop focuses on the skills necessary to become a top-producing manager: coaching, counseling, and training others. Some of the topics include promoting employee loyalty and commitment, dealing with various personality types, motivating employees, and handling conflict.

Transitioning from Staff to Management (2 days)
It takes more than technical expertise to make the transition from worker to manager. Becoming a manager involves new responsibilities, challenges and rewards. Making this transition can be confusing, stressful and difficult. This workshop helps participants master the new tools necessary in a first level management position.

Strategic/Critical Thinking (2 days)
Learn how to apply strategic thinking to your critical decisions. Develop breakthrough strategies that leverage your strengths and minimize weaknesses. Gain essential support to expand and accelerate your success.
